The Ishams of Lamport are an ancient baronetical family and a cadet branch of the Ishams of Pytchley. For an overview of the Baronetcy’s history, what is known of the individual Baronets, and profiles of members of the current Baronetical family, see:

King Charles I created the Isham of Lamport Baronetcy in the Baronetage of England on 30 May 1627. The first Baronet, Sir John Isham, had been knighted by King James I on 29 March 1608. Isham of Lamport is the 36th most senior baronetcy in the Baronetage of England. With 22 of the more senior baronetcies now largely unused subsidiary titles of peers and 2 baronetcies dormant for at least a decade, Isham of Lamport ranks 12th in antiquity among the English baronetcies which are the current holder’s most senior title.
The current Baronet–the 14th–is Sir Norman Isham, Bart., OBE, B. Arch. (Distn.), ARIBA. He succeeded to the Baronetcy in 2009 upon the death of his elder brother, Sir Ian, the 13th Baronet.
Owing to the bachelorhood of Sir Norman’s two immediate predecessors, Sir Gyles and Sir Ian, his wife Joan (Genet) then became the first Lady Isham since the death of Millicent (Vaughan), widow of Sir Vere, 11th Baronet, in 1961–a gap of 48 years, almost half a century. (Sir Norman and Lady Isham are pictured together. Millicent, Lady Isham, appears alone in a portrait that hangs in Lamport Hall’s vestibule.)
Lamport Hall (pictured), the seat of the Ishams of Lamport for more than 400 years, also survives under the jurisdiction of the Lamport Hall Preservation Trust. Current members of the Trust board include Sir Norman’s and Lady Isham’s first-born daughter, Libby Brayshaw, and their elder son and heir to the Baronetcy, Richard Isham.
